Who made this,
and why.
Who I am
In late 2025, I found myself at one of the most difficult points in my life. I was about to become a father, I had lost my job, and I was dealing with several health problems.
During that time, I returned to chess — a game I had only briefly learned as a child. It gave me something to focus on, helped me quiet my mind, and slowly became a steady presence while I worked through those challenges.
As time passed, I realized that both chess and the community around it had helped me more than I expected. I created this website as a small way of giving something back to the chess community that gave me so much when I needed it most.
Why I built GambitCard
A rating is just a number. It doesn't tell you who you are at the board — the openings you marry, the way you tend to lose, the clock you trust a little too much.
I wanted to turn the shape of how someone plays into something you'd actually want to keep. Not a report. Not a roast. A card — a collectible that celebrates your game instead of grading it. A witty, honest read of your style, printed like something worth pulling from a pack.
Then it grew: a separate card for each time control, rarity that climbs with your rating, a whole set to complete. A 3000-rated card should look legendary. A first card should feel like a beginning.
That's GambitCard. It's free, there's no signup, and it's built for the love of the game.
